Portland, OR—May 22, 2026
CETI, a creative and emerging technology institute, is launching a third series of Postcards From Our Climate Resilient Future, an augmented reality storytelling experience that visualizes community designed actions to address Multnomah County’s Climate Justice plan through a series of interactive and dynamic artworks, at Portland State University’s Lincoln Hall on May 29, 2026.
Supported in part by Agog: The Immersive Media Institute and launched in 2023, the project includes eight imaginative, immersive, augmented reality-enhanced postcards developed by CETI. Informed by Multnomah County’s Climate Justice Plan, these experiences share imaginative tactics and narratives that envision a climate-resilient future for the region.
“This project is important because it gives us a tangible way to imagine the world we want to live in,” said Mareika Glenn, CETI Environmental projects manager. “For me, the future can seem bleak, and I often struggle to feel hopeful. Working with other artists who care deeply for this world and the future they believe is possible has shown me how much power we still have. Good change is possible, but we need to work together to create it.”
An ongoing placemaking project, Postcards From Our Climate Resilient Future, brings artists, technologists, researchers, and communities together to use emerging technology to inspire and mobilize communities for environmental and social change in personal and poignant ways.Experience the immersive creations and meet the team that brought the project to life. Postcards From Our Climate Resilient Future Series 3 launch will be open to the public on May 29, 2026, from 2–5 PM at Portland State University Lincoln Hall, LH355, 1620 SW Park.
