Augmented creation: Cultural heritage/future storytelling
We continue building XRchive: a series of XR storytelling experiences of migrations and displacements, of Portland’s immigrant and indigenous communities created in interdisciplinary collaboration with a diverse community of artists, technologists, and community partners, for people to experience as they wander around Portland, unearthing hidden stories and provocations.
To ensure that all our communities’ cultures, (hi)stories, contributions and future visions are remembered, celebrated, and visible for America At 250 in 2026, we will activate public spaces with augmented storytelling tours and interactive experiences focused on: The Power of Place: Stories of Old Town Chinatown, Japantown, and Albina.
